Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu participated in a candlelighting ceremony on the second night of Hanuakkah alongside Taglit-Birthright Israel participants, using the largest Hanukkiah in the world.
"We are celebrating the wondrers and miracles performed for our forefathers," the prime minister said. "These miracles were performed for us in the past, and there are other miracles that will continue into the future. It is a privilege to celebrate the festival of Hanukkah today in the Land of Israel -- the country of the Jewish people, with a Jewish army."
The Minister of Environmental Protection, Gilad Erdan, and two Taglit participants who serve as officers in the "Iron Dome" program joined the prime minister in lighting the candles, along with Chabad Rabbi Gloiberman in Park Ariel Sharon.
