30 veteran Taglit tour educators – some of whom who have
worked with Taglit since its very beginning – took part in a 5-day professional
forum aimed at development, enrichment, and sharing of best practices and
The forum is one of three tracks recently launched in
the context of the Taglit Institute for Tour Educators – a project aimed at
cultivating excellent educational staff who can be the facilitators for
Taglit's thousands of participants on this potentially transformative Jewish
journey. The forum program includes emphasis on the theory and practice of
informal Jewish education, on the Jewish world today, on the profiles of Taglit
participants, and on teaching and facilitation methods and tools.
As one of the
forum participants shared, "We are not only tour guides. Our work with
Taglit is about helping young Jewish adults experience Israel and their
connections with the Jewish people."
