Have plans this December? This year, Birthright Israel NEXT invites you to pass on Chinese food for an organic, locally-grown culinary experience in Monterey Bay, CA. Join us at the fourth annual Hazon Food Conference in Monterey, CA December 24-27, where farmers, rabbis, nutritionists, chefs, vegans and omnivores will come together. Explore the current national interest in food and the environment, and how it ties in to Jewish life.
The weekend will link contemporary issues to ancient ones—from the commandment of food justice to the environmental value of letting the land “rest."
Birthright Israel NEXT doesn’t want a little thing like money to stand in your way of this great opportunity. We are providing 40 young adults, including non-Taglit-Birthright Israel alumni with a full subsidy for registration fees and partial travel subsidy to the conference, in a beautiful location surrounded by sandy beaches and pine forests. This will include four days of do-it-yourself food workshops, lectures, yoga, discussions, hiking, joyful Shabbat celebrations, and delicious and consciously prepared food.
You do not need to be a Taglit-Birthright Israel alumnus to be eligible for this subsidy.
