Eco Shabbaton
April 23-25th- Are you passionate about the environment and interested in learning about how live a more sustainable lifestyle? We will be hosting an Eco-Shabbaton at Camp Beber in Wisconsin where we will be relaxing and learning about the connection between Judaism and the environment and how to live a more sustainable life. Elizabeth was born in Pittsburgh, PA, but grew up mostly in Buffalo, NY. She attended Arizona State University and studied Broadcasting Business Management. After graduating she moved to Los Angeles, where she worked at Paramount Pictures in Special Events. Elizabeth lived in Israel for five months, working for an animation company in Tel Aviv. Now, in addition to being a NEXT fellow, she works in the legal department at Rotary International.
Meet Masha
Masha was born and almost raised in Moscow, Russia. But as Masha says “there is something rotten in the state of Russia” and her family moved to the windy city of Chicago. After graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, Masha moved back to the city to get more involved. Masha is interested in making sure that no Jew is left out of our community.
Meet Erica
Erica Sosa is a graduate student at Northeastern Illinois University pursuing an M.A. in Linguistics. Erica participated in the Taglit-Birthright Israel program in 2008 and the Israeli Diplomatic Fellowship in 2009. As a believer in cultural, ethnic and secular Judaism, Erica expresses her connection to Judaism through community outreach and academic exploration.
