Break the Fast
Helping others? Couldn’t hurt! This high holiday season, Birthright Israel NEXT is launching Break-the-Fast, a national canned food drive. Using our Facebook app, you and your friends can form teams, make pledges, and challenge each other to collect food for those who go hungry year round, not just on Yom Kippur.
Liz joined the
Birthright Israel NEXT Colorado when
she moved to Colorado from New York
City. Looking to meet new friends and
make Jewish connections, the events
have provided a strong community and
a home away from home. From Shabbat
dinners, outdoor adventures and
volunteer activities - she's having a
blast!
Joel
Rozansky
Joel is
a Midwesterner who grew up in
Milwaukee, WI. A Jewish Summer
Camp in the North woods of Wisconsin
had a huge impact on who he is today
including his connection to Judaism.
Joel was highly active in the
reconstuctionist synagogue in
Milwaukee where he played most of the
music for Shabbat and Holiday
services. Israel was calling
after graduating from college. He
traveled to Israel for 6 months to
learn permaculture design, organic
gardening, alternative building, and
ecological design on Kibbutz Lotan's
Green Apprenticeship program. Meet
Joel Wednesdays at Ekar farm or
at an event!
Ekar
Farm
We want you to make our
Jewish communal farm and garden a
thriving place full of life and
abundance. Get involved -- in the
planting, cultivating, harvesting of
organic produce. We meet Wednesdays
from 3-7:00 p.m. to dig in the dirt.
Enjoy a cold beverage and meet other
young Jews. Community garden plots
available!
