Welcome to Hillel: Taglit-Birthright Israel! As the largest Jewish
campus organization in the world, Hillel International offers the opportunity
to travel throughout Israel with students from your own college or from across
the country. We have no doubt that, by traveling with us, you will have the
time of your life on this free trip to Israel!
In addition to seeing the major sites of Israel – Masada, the Dead
Sea, and the Western Wall – we’ll take you to amazing places you didn’t even
know existed. You’ll ride a camel in the desert, go jeeping in the Golan, and sleep
in Bedouin tents. All the while, you will be traveling with Israeli soldiers
and getting a firsthand account of the real Israel.
While the weekdays will be packed, we focus on taking a break from the
fast-paced regular itinerary on Shabbat. Celebrated pluralistically with Reform,
Conservative, and Orthodox features, we also offer non-prayer alternatives such
as meditation, discussions, and/or yoga. Beyond that, Shabbat is the special time
where students have the opportunity, if they would like, to celebrate becoming
a Bar or Bat Mitzvah if they never had the chance.
But the best part of traveling to Israel with Hillel International is
our superior staff and ratings from Taglit-Birthright Israel. We have a staff that
keeps its participants safe, and makes the trip exciting and lots of fun. We
promise, you won’t regret choosing us!
The Taglit-Birthright Israel: Hillel trips will connect Jewish students to their Jewish journey and identities, to Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people, and, upon return, to their Jewish communities. All Hillel trips will provide a variety of meaningful Jewish experiences for students from all Jewish backgrounds to explore their tradition. Hillel will focus on follow-through after the trip with all campus-based participants, enabling and empowering them to continue examining their relationship to Israel and to the Jewish people both on campus and in their communities.
Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life provides opportunities for Jewish students at more than 500 colleges and universities to explore and celebrate their Jewish identity through its global network of regional centers, campus Foundations and Hillel student organizations. Hillel is working to provoke a renaissance of Jewish life.
Hillel's mission is to enrich the lives of Jewish undergraduate and graduate students so that they may enrich the Jewish people and the world. Hillel student leaders, professionals and lay leaders are dedicated to creating a pluralistic, welcoming and inclusive environment for Jewish college students, where they are encouraged to grow intellectually, spiritually and socially. Hillel helps students find a balance in being distinctively Jewish and universally human by encouraging them to pursue tzedek (social justice), tikkun olam (repairing the world) and Jewish learning, and to support Israel and global Jewish peoplehood. Hillel is committed to excellence, innovation, accountability and results.
