Wilderness Experience

Challenge Yourself with an Epic Israeli Adventure!

The Wilderness Experience is a 4 day opportunity based in the Negev. We will face wilderness challenges including navigation, camouflage, cooking outdoors, archery and so much more. Experience this all in the beautiful Negev landscape which offers unique views and mesmerizing desert nights.

The Wilderness Experience lasts four full days. After being picked up in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem, we will travel to the Northern Negev to the place where David Ben Gurion, Israel’s First Prime Minister, lived and is now buried.
For the duration of the program, participants will sleep outdoors under the desert sky. We will get to know the wonders of the wilderness and learn desert skills like how to navigate using the stars, outdoor food preparation and archery.
To top it all off, we will walk desert trails while meeting local Israeli young adults, visit a Bedouin village and hold a sports competition with Israeli teens from Arad.

The Wilderness Experience is appropriate for all levels -- from novices to experts.
Develop wilderness skills that will stay with you for the rest of your life. Whether you have experienced numerous outdoor excursions or if you have never opened a sleeping bag—this outing is for you. It’s an unforgettable experience for all!

“AHARAI!” (“Follow Me!”) is a unique youth movement established in 1997 with the purpose of cultivating young leadership among youth from the social, economic and geographic periphery in Israel.
We believe that each and every individual is entitled to be treated equally as a citizen of Israel, regardless of where they were born or where they grew up.
Presently, “AHARAI!” operates 380 activity centers nationwide. There are more than 7,000 participants in the various young leadership programs, army preparatory groups, matriculation learning centers, school workshops to guide them towards significant military service, military academy, a“gap year” in the community and the “Aharai!” alumni organization which completes this process for preparation to enter the post-army civilian world.
