Hillel International

About

Welcome to Birthright Israel: Hillel! Hillel International offers the opportunity to travel throughout Israel with students from your own college or from across the country. Additionally, we offer trips for graduate students and young professionals, ages 22 to 26, that have the same educational and pluralistic aspects as our famous campus trips. Travelling with Hillel, you have your choice of travel dates, departure city and specialty trips.

In addition to seeing the major sites of Israel – Masada, the Dead Sea, and the Western Wall – we’ll take you to amazing places you didn’t even know existed. You’ll ride a camel in the desert, go jeeping in the Golan, and sleep in Bedouin tents. All the while, you will be traveling with Israeli soldiers and getting a firsthand account of the real Israel. On Shabbat you will have the chance to choose the way you celebrate, whether through Reform, Conservative, or Orthodox services, or in a guided mediation, yoga, or alternative conversation. Come see the Israel beyond the headlines and experience Israel for yourself!

Vision Statement

Birthright Israel: Hillel trips connect Jewish students and young professionals to their Jewish journey and identities, to Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people, and, upon return, to their communities. All Hillel trips will provide a variety of meaningful experiences for young adults from all Jewish backgrounds to explore their tradition. On this trip, participants will explore Jewish history, Israeli history, and current Israeli life through exciting tours, hikes, and unique activities.

Our Company/Organization

For nearly a century, Hillel’s network of dedicated student leaders, professionals and volunteers have encouraged generations of young adults to celebrate Jewish learning and living, pursue social justice (tikkun olam and tzedek) and connect to their peers and the global Jewish people. By participating in life-changing trips and campus initiatives, students learn to make a meaningful impact on the future of the Jewish people and the world while they grow intellectually, socially, and spiritually. At the heart of the Hillel network is the Charles and Lynn Schusterman International Center, supporting local Hillels to ensure that we achieve our mission “to enrich the lives of Jewish students so they may enrich the Jewish people and the world.”

Hillel engages with and inspires the leadership of more Jewish college students than all other endeavors combined. We know that 90% of Jews in the United States go to college, and with a rich and diverse Hillel network, we are proud to be serving them at more than 550 colleges and universities.

Our Mission: Enriching the lives of Jewish students so that they may enrich the Jewish people and the world.

Our Vision: We envision a world where every student is inspired to make an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning and Israel.

The Trip Staff Team

Our trips are staffed by local North American Hillel professionals, other Jewish community professionals or university faculty/officials - all of whom have been specially trained to ensure the highest quality experience in Israel. Each group is also accompanied by a highly experienced, educationally-focused, licensed Israeli tour educator (guide).
